Amid a report in the last day that United States and Border Protection are considering (or at least have considered) weaponizing drones, there is news on the civilian front, too. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas and several of his colleagues have spoken out against the use of drones domestically against Americans:

Perhaps lawmakers are coming around. This is a good illustration of mixed uses (and views) of unmanned aerial vehicles (“UAVs”) and why an all or none approach to this new aviation technology is misguided. The limitations of UAVs in a constitutional or legal sense should not impede otherwise positive economic and practical applications of the technology.
