Who didn’t see this story coming?

The National Security Agency has collaborated closely with the CIA in the program of drone strikes against suspected terrorists overseas that is at the heart of President Obama’s strategy against Islamic militants, according to to a report based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

This can only be viewed as another black eye for unmanned aerial vehicles in the public debate about drone use.  While Americans no doubt applaud (and should applaud) victories in the so-called war on terror, eventually — and sooner rather than later — the question of how overseas drone use may be applied to counter-terrorism or law enforcement within the United States to American citizens is looming.
